Our Governance

Meridian Recovery Group operates under a clear governance framework designed to ensure professional conduct, transparency, and accountability across all client engagements.

Governance is treated as a core operational function and underpins how instructions are accepted, managed, and progressed. This ensures matters are handled consistently, proportionately, and within defined professional boundaries.

Scope of Activity

Meridian Recovery Group acts exclusively on commercial (B2B) matters, assisting businesses in the recovery of unpaid, undisputed invoices owed by other companies.

The firm does not engage in consumer debt collection, regulated consumer credit activities, or the provision of legal advice.

All instructions are accepted within a clearly defined scope and documented prior to action being taken.

Escalation & Legal Coordination

Where matters require escalation beyond initial recovery stages, Meridian Recovery Group coordinates with appropriately qualified commercial legal professionals.

Formal legal proceedings are undertaken only by solicitors instructed directly by the creditor or with the creditor’s express consent. Meridian Recovery Group does not represent clients in court or provide legal advice.

Data Protection & Confidentiality

Meridian Recovery Group maintains procedures for the secure handling and storage of confidential information.

Client and debtor information is:

  • Used solely for the purpose of the engagement

  • Accessed on a need-to-know basis

  • Handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements

Authority & Instruction

Recovery activity is undertaken only where Meridian Recovery Group has received written authority from the instructing creditor.

Each engagement is governed by:

  • A defined scope of work

  • Clear authority to act

  • Documented terms of engagement

No recovery action is initiated without appropriate instruction and supporting documentation.

Record-Keeping & Oversight

Accurate records are maintained for each instruction, including:

  • Client authority

  • Correspondence

  • Key actions and escalation decisions

This ensures transparency, accountability, and continuity throughout the recovery process.

Professional Conduct

All correspondence and communications are conducted in a professional, accurate, and non-misleading manner.

Our approach is procedural and evidence-led, ensuring that recovery activity remains proportionate and appropriate to the circumstances of each matter.

We do not:

  • Misrepresent authority or status

  • Threaten action that is not available or intended

  • Engage in aggressive or improper conduct
